Seriously something needs to be done about having kids in the library....to make a long story short, I was at one of the computers filling out a form online; I was also on my phone with someone walking me through the process and I could barely hear whay they were saying because was keeping these kids under control, so along comes along a line of about 25-30 kids along with 4 adults that just werent paying any attention to them and keeping them under control....they were just being loud and extremely annoying and they were all literally right by where I was sitting. The library IS NOT a playground and alot of these parents and staff dont do anything about.....It used to be that you could only talk barely above a whisper. The kids need to stay in the designated section of the library and kee
I am a senior citizen and have recently moved back to Gainsville. One of the first things I do in a new town is go to the library. The policy for checking out books and movies for newcomers here is disappointing to say the least. 2 books only for 30 days. No movies for 30 days. No library I've been to has been this convoluted or backward. I told them I can't read as much as I used to and that I enjoy films instead. I was told the state placed the policy but according to internet it's the director who sets it. So shame on whoever is responsible. No other library this way.
Lived in Gainesville, TX nearly all my life. I went today to have them scan my teacher loan forgiveness forms to my email, so I didn't have to drive 40 minutes to my school, to send in these forms. The charge was .75 per page, total 9.00. Ok, I'll cut down the instructions pages and only keep the vital info, total 6.00. Had $3.69 on me, they don't take debit, so I asked to go to the ATM and get a $20. Nope sorry, we can't make change for that. A) Do they file a tax statement if everything taken in by cash? B) If they don't keep cash, why you must pay in cash? C) fyi, copiers that scan to email don't cost anything. D) This was a document from the state who funds libraries to return to TEA. ...just saying it was rude and I do not think the particular incident should happen to anyone else.
Great selection of books, DVDs and CD books!!! Activities for our kids and the staff is great with questions.
It's an amazing, cozy library in Gainesville, TX, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere with comfortable reading nooks, shelves lined with a diverse collection of books, and a peaceful ambiance perfect for reading or studying.
