Customer Reviews
This place was great! Oldest continuously operating tavern west of the Mississippi!! the atmosphere is awesome. The service is great and the food was amazing. We ate here several times while staying in town.
The waitress was nice, but clearly rushed as she was the only one on the floor, and the atmosphere was nothing special. It was the food that was the most disappointing. I ordered a soda, grilled chicken sandwich, and the vegetable of the day (mixed vegetables straight out of the can). My husband ordered a soda, cheeseburger, and fries. We paid $47 before the tip, which was shocking for something that tasted like cafeteria food.
Food was good waitress was nice. Being such old building didnt have much history theme to it. Passing through nice little town.
Food was decent but a bit overpriced however we did not realize it is a smoking establishment so it smelled like an ashtray and that took away from the food quality. I have no problem is an establishment wants to allow smoking but at least put up a sign and warn potential patrons. Had we known, we would have simply went elsewhere but by the time we realized we had already ordered our drinks. At least we know about the smoking for next time and can avoid.
I apologize to those who are hungry in advance. This review may not be the one you want to read. I wasn't gonna leave any review at first, because this was the only place that was open when we arrived in town, so we were happy to have somewhere to eat. The food was very plain and the service was fine. About five minutes after leaving the restaurant, the wife and I both knew something wasn't right. We both felt sick. After struggling with it for a couple hours, I had to rush to the bathroom and lose it. The next morning, I spent some quite unpleasant time in the restroom, and that's all I'll say about that. I hate to leave a bad review for any business, but this was my experience. Hopefully , we feel better soon , and we can enjoy the rest of our time here in town.
