Columbia County Public Library - Fort White Branch

Fort White branch is lovely, with gardens and covered outdoor seating too! Great for socially distanced meet ups. The staff is helpful and they have a big selection of used books on sale for .25 cents! Beautiful location!

I'm very disappointed in our public library system. The fees really make me sick to my stomach. $70+ for 4 kids level 1 reading book that were slightly water damaged from my daughter spilling her bottle of water in her bookbag. I was told they were unable to reshelve or sell the books due to the water damage and they charge an additional $4 fee per book on top of the cost to replace it. They said I could pay $2 and check out 2 books but now I'm terrified my daughter will accidentally damage a level 1 book and have to pay an extra $20. I don't know where they're buying their books from but sadly me and my kids won't be back to the public library. 😞

Nice staff, good selection of books (government allowed only) overall the only issue isn't their fault
