Best dining experience we have had in the area! It is our first time being here and we will definitely be back. The black cod is so soft and melts in your mouth. My husband ordered the steak and he really loved it. Spam musubi is also delicious. Yumminess with unbeatable price, pleasant food presentation and high quality service. Would recommend this to anyone.

Exceeded all expectations! A perfect family brunch! We had family visiting from out of town and decided to try Colander Kitchen for brunch, and I'm so glad we did! Everything exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The steak & grits was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The kids said it the best bacon they've ever had – it was SO thick and perfectly crispy! The French toast was fluffy and flavorful, the beignets were light and airy like a taste of New Orleans, and the crab cake eggs Benedict had generous portions with fresh crab and perfectly poached eggs. The atmosphere was welcoming and perfect for families, with attentive service that wasn't intrusive. Colander Kitchen is definitely our new go-to brunch spot in San Mateo. Highly recommend to anyone looking for ex

Absolutely delicious! We shared a fabulous fresh salad with toasted goat cheese, candied walnuts and apples, with an added side of fresh salmon (not in photo), and a truly amazing, wonderfully flavored, fresh and tender whole branzino fish (only $18?!!), with a passion fruit creme brulee to finish off the meal. I will definitely be back! An adorable working, Italian coffee truck is on display which added a great ambiance to the exposed brick and multiple window setting. Great chat with owners. He has years of restaurant and seafood experience, and she is Hawaiian and provided warm customer service. The value for the quality of food was outstanding!! A true gastronomic gem! **Note -It is a cashless business, and uses QR code ordering, which owner states helps keep food experience costs do

Came here to celebrate my mom’s birthday! Such a treat. If you’re looking for high quality food, beautiful presentation and a welcoming environment- try this place! Family owned, in fact the husband and wife duo will likely be tending to you while there. Recommend the coconut shrimp and salmon! Portions are super generous and pricing very reasonable. Support small biz owners and check out this treasure!

My friend and I tried this restaurant when we hanged out together. Surprisingly the quality of the food, service and the decoration of this place exceed our expectations. The price is reasonable and I learned that the owner has been in food industry almost 30 years from the couple sitting next to our table. The funny thing is that they told us that they came for lunch and love the food and service and the price. Then they came back again. I agreed with them. Next time I want to try the latte that the couple recommended us. They said the price is super reasonable so they love coming to this place for lattes. I asked the owner about the coffee things and was told the coffee beans, coffee machine and the cool coffee car are from Italy. But unfortunately I could not take coffee night time in
