Coco's Cuban Restaurant

OMG!! Que Rico estuvo este bistec palomilla!!! This was so tasty and filling. The guys were nice. The atmosphere was great! I enjoyed the music selection and it all made me feel like home! Their guava/cheese pastries were also so good I had to take some to go!! I will be coming back!!

The food is incredible. The ropa vieja was perfectly seasoned and tender, the rice and black beans were full of flavor, and the sweet plantains were cooked just right — caramelized and soft. The Cuban sandwich was hands down one of the best I’ve had — crispy bread on the outside, packed with juicy, savory meat on the inside. You can tell everything is made fresh. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Service was quick, but never rushed. It really feels like they care about the food and their customers.

I’ve been here before and never had an experience like this. The food was terrible. I specifically asked for fresh plantains, and I was still given old ones. When I mentioned it, nothing was corrected. To make things worse, the owner became visibly upset over a simple drink swap. My friend ordered a Sprite, and I asked to exchange it for coconut water, which is the same price. I even offered to pay the difference just to avoid conflict, even though the prices were identical. The attitude and lack of customer service were extremely disappointing—especially coming from the owner. I won’t be returning.

My sister and I are originally from Fort Lauderdale, and after living here for 4½ years, we’ve been seriously missing good Cuban food. While our car was being serviced nearby, we decided to give Coco’s a try — and I’m so glad we did! It’s a cute little café with so much charm, and the food was absolutely delicious. The roasted pork was moist, tender, and packed with flavor. The black beans had tremendous depth and seasoning, and the tostones? Light, crisp, and beyond delicious. If you’re craving authentic, flavorful Cuban food, I highly recommend giving this establishment a try. A true gem!

Stopped by for lunch with my parents after an ultrasound, and I’m still dreaming about the papaya milkshake…it was absolutely incredible! We also had the tostones, empanadas, and Cuban sandwiches, and everything was packed with flavor. The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch. Also the prices were very reasonable. I wish they had a location closer to Buford, but we’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in the area. Highly recommend!
