What a blessing and a true GEM of Elizabethton. This local restaurant is a testament to small town life....Great food... Personalized and friendly service.... hometown coziness! My all time favorite place for a "lip smacking" cheese burger .... Everything to perfection. Y'all rock....highly recommend this place for an exceptional breakfast or lunch.

This is a favorite of ours! A small, local restaurant that epitomizes a mom and pop restaurant. I have had the soup beans with cornbread, the burger with fries/onion rings, the meatloaf plate, chicken salad with fruit and the club sandwich; all of the menu items have been good! When you walk in you can find an open table to sit down and will be greeted shortly by one of the wonderful ladies that work there. It can get crowded so plan accordingly! Then while you wait for your food you can enjoy small town life. You can see the teacher who taught you and your mom enjoying the special of the day while the local judge comes in to get a piece of one of the delicious desserts that are offered. City Market is an experience all around and one you won’t soon forget!

What I liked about City Market is that they have that old school diner feel. Simple and tasty foods like chicken salad croissant sandwich and their fresh never frozen hamburger patties for their burgers are awesome. As for their dessert, it's a must!
