City Cafe Diner

Stopped here for lunch today....and was amazed at the variety on their menu...Burgers, Sandwiches, Italian food, Greek food, Steak, Seafood, Breakfast ALL DAY, and some of the most delicious looking desserts you've ever seen! We received a large complimentary bread loaf that was divine.....and it came with butter and a house made feta spread that was literally addictive. I tried the Carbonara and my hubby had a meat-lover's omelette with home fries. Both were fresh and hot and came out quickly. Portion sizes were very generous, and everythign tasted really good. My meal came with a nice salad that was crisp and fresh as well. Our server, Theresa was a gem.....very friendly and she took great care of us. Okay, so I went to this place Sunday after church and the vibe was totally on point with super friendly servers who really paid attention. I decided to go for the country fried steak plate because I was craving some comfort food. Honestly, I was a little bummed out when it arrived though. It just wasn't what I was hoping for. If I had to guess id say it was a frozen fried steak patty fried and served. I've had it so many other places and this one just missed the mark. It really needs to be made in house. Love the food and service here. We have eaten at the one in Chattanooga Tn and Huntsville AL. The service and food were great resturants were clean has to be for me. Loved the avocado toast my son had a Greek dish and said it was delicious not sure of the name of the dish. Great food and great service Thank you to both locations.

We were traveling and excited to try this after reading reviews. Our experience was not the same as others. The service was fast but the food was just not good! I got eggs Benedict and the egg whites weren't done at all and the hollandaise was lemon and no other flavor it was genuinely nasty. I couldnt eat it. To be fair the home fries as a side were good. My son got country fried steak with waffle. Waffle was soft not at all crispy amd steak was bland. My husband had pancakes and bacon which were the only good things. We spent 60 and it was such a waste of money for a meal that was such a let down.. I figure they can probably bake as they had beautiful cakes and the pancakes were the best thing on our table. City diner Incredible variety, great quality & quantity. Greek? Yes. Italian? Yes. Classic burgers & shakes? Yes. Fried chicken ? Yes. Fried fish ? Yes. Cakes? Huge giant luxury cakes that are awesome? Yes!!!! This is a diner that reminds me of the glory of all the northerners diners with all the grace & charm of the international relaxed rocket city 😎 vibe. Southern classy & sassy & fun with beautiful booths & great music. This a great place to cater a holiday, to book a party in the family dining room, or have a business lunch with fellow staff. Wonderful for; team event's, baby showers, bridal showers, graduations, family reunions. This place is an well known in the area but undiscovered as a next big stylish southern diner classic. Should be on a top ten to visit in Alabama.
