Churrasqueria Genesis Restaurant

This used to be my go-to spot for takeout. The portion sizes are generous—definitely enough to hold you over until the next day. They offer a solid variety, including fish, chicken, and more. I wasn’t crazy about my most recent experience, though. I recently stopped eating chicken and beef, so for the first time, I tried their salmon. I ordered salmon with rice and two sides—plantains and macaroni salad. All of these items were familiar to me from previous visits, except for the salmon. Don't get me wrong—the portion was huge—but the salmon just wasn’t that flavorful. What really caught me off guard was the price: $31. I’ve never paid more than $14 here before. Churrasqueria Génesis Restaurant is hands down the best Brazilian or Latina American Churrasco spot in all of Queens and Nassau County. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, explaining the menu and even recommending the perfect dish with sides. Family owned and I will be supporting again!

I had lunch here today and it was really good! I got the grilled chicken with yellow rice and sweet plantains and two chicken and cheese empanadas. The grilled chicken and rice were good. The sweet plaintains were’t really very sweet how I like them but they were pretty good. The chicken empanadas were good and cheesy but I wish they had beef and cheese instead. Overall this is a pretty good lunch spot, and considering the area not too unreasonably priced. I would definitely go back here again.

This restaurant is connected to a take out restaurant next door. We decided to eat in instead and give it a try. Nice decor and very clean seating area. The grilled calamari was probably the best dish we ate. The main entrees were a different story. The T-bone steak had a very small side of filet mignon on it making it not worth the price tag. It was also over cooked.

Had the grilled fish here twice. Awesome! Good rice portions & potatoes. Paid $31.50 but definitely worth it. Good enough for you and a date to share
