Church Initiative

Failure. Only 3 members, who had NOTHING in common. Two weekly back-to-back cancellations at the last minute, for lack of attendance. Leader was half-hearted, late, perfunctory, and in one instance, outright rude: She decided to eat her lunch, while we all sat there, stupefied! I had to dig a tissue out of my purse for another attendee. Not even a box of tissues was provided -- attendees were were expected to arrange furniture, turn on the lights, etc. I guess that's why she brought her lunch and ate it in front of us while the video was running...I did have an opportunity to express my frustrations with using the cell phone but THEY ALL LAUGHED AT ME. They must like to laugh at 80 year olds.

The only reason I am giving Church Initiative a 1 star rating is because zero stars is not available. I attempted to purchase the GriefShare Leader material so that I could lead a group in my neighborhood. My wife lost two of her brothers to Covid, one of my neighbors lost her husband to suicide and another lost her husband to a motorcycle accident. I was contacted by Kim Castine and was told that because I am not under the oversight of a Church I was not allowed to purchase the material. I questioned that, since I lead a GriefShare group in 2013 after my wife passed away ( I am remarried). I received zero oversight from my Church. Kim Castine cut me off, talked over me and was very rude. She said oversight of the group was Biblical and I asked where that was in the New Testament.

What a awesome healing ministry! You can tell who’s been through their program…the healing & growth is obvious.

GriefShare is an awesome program. Recommend for anyone who has lost someone.
