Chicken Stop

This place is terrible since the new owners took over. It was $16 for a cheese quesadilla and 2 sides. It took them 15 minutes to make it and I was the only one in line. The quesadilla was super greasy and the french fries were cold. This place has gone downhill but the prices have gone up considerably.

The fried chicken is outstanding. My picky kids who will only eat chicken prefer their chicken to Canes and Chick-fil-A. Crispy with a little kick of spicy. We most enjoy the chicken tenders. They bread it and cook it to order so you want to call ahead plan 15 minutes. The manager is really awesome. Kind and service oriented. I am not big on their sides so we take the chicken and do our own sides. It is a gas station so the ambiance is not great. Take out recommended.

They changed the chicken strips old ones were better

Food is okay, just depends on if you get it fresh or if it's been sitting there for a while. I ordered the tenders last time and Alex offered to cook them fresh and they were great, biscuits had obviously been sitting out for a while, basically inedible. Alex is the shining star here, superb customer service, always friendly and eager to please. It's refreshing compared to going to any other local fast food chain and having some teenager that doesn't care shove food out a window at you, that may or may not respond or care when you thank you or have a nice day.

Unfortunately, this will be my last time visiting A Chicken Stop one of the employees working in the cooking area had influenza on the 25th of March @ 3:10 pm and was preparing the food they didn't even wash their hands. I ended up getting sick off the contaminated food that was prepared. I've been in a healthy state and it's been a long time since I last had influenza. Sad this happened because this use to be my go to spot whenever I would visit McKinney TX.
