Their specialty food item here is their Peruvian rotisserie chicken. It is hands down one the best and well-seasoned chicken you will taste. My Peruvian friend introduced me to this place and since then, I can taste this chicken from miles away. They have other items on their menu but the chicken is their best. They can be a little pricey but you won’t regret it. The location of this place is not the best since it’s in a very busy and congested area and finding free parking is difficult so you must be ready to pay or walk a few blocks for free parking.
Chicken Rico is a beloved local Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken counter in Highlandtown that’s famous for its juicy, charcoal-cooked pollo a la brasa and bold seasoning recipe that’s stood the test of time. You’ll find whole, half, or quarter chickens served with classics like Spanish rice, yuca fries, plantains, and creamy sauces — tasty sides that pair perfectly with the smoky, savory bird. I really enjoy how simple but satisfying the food feels — the chicken is tender and flavorful without being overly fancy, and it’s a great mix of rich Peruvian tradition and Baltimore neighborhood charm. The portions are generous, the prices reasonable for what you get, and the atmosphere is casual and family-friendly, so it’s perfect whether you’re grabbing lunch on the go or settling in for a rel
Clean restaurant. Nice digital displays. Menu easy to read. Spent $46 for the full rotisserie chicken, rice, beans, yuca, string beans and plantains. It's actually one of the best deals around. The food itself is excellent Peruvian style chicken. No complaints. Will definitely be back and the baby loved it. He ate like 4 ounce of chicken, which is alot for him.
Charcoal cooked rotisserie chicken. Chicken has alot of flavor and is moist, Spanish style rice was really good and so are the red beans. Not much in the way of seating find a table and sit down, pretty basic. If you are on the run for a quick puck up for lunch and or dinner this spot does the trick and quite well at that. The only thing I would say is some of the food is just a tad on the salty side so definitely grab yourself a drink but other that that it was a good meal.
Website says $10.50 for a half chicken meal, but I was just charged $19. I realize plantains are extra, but not sure they are that much extra. Also, the digital menu wasn't working, and the guy ringing me up didn't understand my question on price.
