Chicago Ridge Public Library

Chicago Ridge Library is such a wonderful place to go. The staff is always friendly and willing to help with any questions you have. They have a wonderful book club to join that is always fun. They have so many different activities for many ages. Always look forward to go there.

I used to come to this library all the time because it was always clean, quiet, and a great place to study. The staff are nice, and it used to be easy to get work done here. Lately, every time I come in, there are a couple of homeless people sitting inside for long periods with bags of trash and personal items. One of them often has wet pants and a strong smell, which makes the space uncomfortable and unpleasant. This is really disappointing for such a nice, clean library. I understand the library is open to the public, but it doesn’t feel fair for other people to feel uncomfortable or avoid using the space. Even during finals, I’ve noticed fewer students coming here compared to before because of this issue. I hope something can be done so the library can feel clean, comfortable, and welco

I brought my 4-year-old son with me, and like most young kids, he was excited and curious about his surroundings. At one point, he reached out and touched a small gift item that looked like something the library gives out as a prize. It wasn’t anything dangerous or breakable — he was just being a curious child. However, a staff member (an older white woman) name Paula Johnson. suddenly yelled at him very loudly, saying, “Don’t touch that!” Her tone was extremely harsh and unexpected. It startled both of us — especially my son, who looked confused and scared and asked me why she screamed at him like that. I understand that staff may have rules to enforce, but the way it was handled felt unnecessarily aggressive, especially for a young child who meant no harm. The library is a place where

This place smells very bad! and people can park shopping carts outside the library now. Let me Valet my shopping cart while I go and stink up the library.
