Customer Reviews
Fast & friendly service, great selection of cream cheese (the strawberry is the best!!), pastries, cookies, deli meats, and cold salads. Excellent breakfast & lunch options. Parking lot for easy parking. Some of my favorite menu items are: tuna melt with sweet relish tuna, toasted egg bagel with strawberry cream cheese, raisin kugel, cheese blintz, Reuben, coleslaw, veggie omelet with hash-browns and rye bread, and I love their mushroom soup! 5/5
Very nice Jewish deli. My only comment is that some prices are a bit high, but the quality of the food is excellent. Bagels, pastries, knishes, chopped liver, lox, salads, sandwiches are all homemade. They have a great selection of bagels. And they boil their bagels. Highly recommend,
Update: I went a second time to try more things. I wouldn't recommend the potato pancakes. I don't know if it was an off day but the potatoes were dry, like they were left out for too long and then fried. But the belly lox sandwich was amazing! On the salty side but that's how we like it. It came with a side of potato salad which was also amazing. Previous review: The food was good but not great. The bagel and cream cheese were good and standard but the pastrami hash and eggs were okay with not a lot of flavor. I'll definitely go back to try different Bagels and other items.
Interesting in a good way. Bagels and cream cheeses are plentiful and flavorful. The reason for the “interesting in a good way” the food and flavors are there all the way. The service displays and process are a little off. 1) displays of bagels: NOPE! The bagels are in a display case however they are in non-see through white plastic tubs labeled by a label maker. I want to actually see what I am buying….I probably would have bought more if I could have seen them. 2) cream cheeses are stack in a cooler case away from the bagels. Again display them nearer each other and I would have bought more. 3) the inside signage is fancy but not clear or together. Just weird. 4) lastly why all the fried food (specials on the kitchen door. I recommend this shop because the bagels were awesome
The best in town for breakfast bagels and (new to me as a visitor to Chicago) bialy. Thick servings of mix and cream cheese. Fluffy bialy, like a giant English muffin. Pricey for full sandwiches, but one will readily fill two folks. Grab a pastry if you're still hungry.
