Chester Diner

The food was amazing and tasted good. The portion sizes were amazing. The waiter kept checking in to make sure we were ok and had everything we needed. It was a nice quiet atmosphere to chat with everyone at the table.

I have visited tons of diners in my lifetime and this is certainly not my favorite one. While sentimental part of me wants to be nice and feel bad for an elderly waitress who tried her best but still managed to mess up the order - i must be fair… so Owner or manager (not sure) kept smiling but then sat three tables away from us with his phone and had a very loud personal conversation…. Food came out super fast and wasnt terrible but wasnt best NJ diners can offer.. Nachos supreme were smaller than typical size at the diners while pricier than most. Overall (must be Chester taxes) prices were about 25% higher than most diners.. Menu is smaller in options (which is not bad or good) than most diners that have a menu - size of encyclopedia. Perfectly reasonable diner, but getting a little expensive. *NOTE: The photos of the menu are very, very obsolete. The current price (November 2025) for a western omelette is $13, which is WAY over the price shown in the photo. My total for the omelette, coffee, tax and tip crossed the $20 line. Food-wise, this was a competent diner-style omelette. The ingredients were stirred into the eggs, and then it was cooked flat and then folded over to fit on the plate. The home fries were good, with some veggies mixed in. The coffee was pretty good. Service was excellent. My waiter was attentive, and got everything right. The restaurant was clean with comfortable seating. Weirdly, they sat all of the people who asked for booths (apparently everybody who was there when I was there) in adjacent b

I was greeted pleasantly and enthusiastically, it was earlier on this Sunday morning. I took a look over the menu, your basic diner menu without a lot of choices, and I don't mind that at all. I asked for rye toast and instead got dry, cold white toast. The butter wouldn't even melt on it. The omelette was your basic folded over eggs with filling thrown in. I still can't find a place around here to get a real omelette but I will keep trying. The home fries were okay, very starchy. I couldn't finish them. All in all, not really worth the effort to drive 20 minutes to get here.

Very good food with lots of menu options. Service was attentive. Decor is very nice the interiors are large and spacious week maintained and clean. We love it
