Chen's Buffet

Our church group went here after services. This place was cramped for our large party. However, the food was worth the price and the server helping us was very attentive. My 3 year old grandson ate for free so that was a giant plus. I'll go back again.

Place is run down and badly torn up booth seats at all the booths that I could see, snagging your clothes or cutting your skin if wearing shorts. The place seemed dirty and non-English speaking staff was a problem when asking for something. Some of the meats on the buffet were cold and dried up as it had been setting out too long. Green bean were cold too. Shrimp was small and not deveined of the poopshoot. Yuk! The ice cream was tiny rationed little scoops in cups that only had chocolate and vanilla and it looked old. I did not partake of it. I got some corn-on-the-cob that was hot in steamed water but they did not provide an "holding utensils" to eat it with and it was too hot to hold it with your fingers. It's busy because the food is so good and fresh. Buffet has a variety. I love their hot sour soup 🍲. This place is busy on Sundays.

Timing is everything. Things are hot and good when it's busy, gets colder and not as good when it's slow. Typical of what you would expect for a buffet. In general I have always enjoyed their food. Much of it is Americanized, along with a selection of American food items like wings, nuggets, etc. When you call in takeout it's almost always better quality than just getting it at the buffet. Highly recommend doing that if you want something, the amounts they give you are also great for the price. $40 worth when we called in takeout was enough for me and my wife to eat off of for three days. Service is also quite dependent on who you get as a waiter.
