Cheng-Du Restaurant

Our very first time we wanted to know what all the talk was about so we decided to finally find out ourselves. Let me say it didn’t disappoint. Everything was so fresh along with representation on the items we had chosen was beautiful. Service was pleasant two ladies working with one another . We did feel rushed though as though flipping the table to the next was possibly important but we aren’t fast eaters . Can not wait to go back I’ve been thinking about the crab ragoons since having them . Now I know what all the buzz is about.

The best gluten free meal I’ve had since celiacs diagnosis 5+ years ago. Kind and knowledgable staff. They have been doing gluten free for 15 years! I drove from way down southern RI just to eat here and I’ll happily do it again. dedicated wok station. I’m so sensitive I get sick for two months from cross contamination and they didn’t make me sick. I gave up years ago trusting places that claim to take cross contamination seriously as chikfila and five guys glutened me more times than I could keep track of. I haven’t eaten out since unless it’s a dedicated gf establishment. Now I can have Chinese food again. Thank you, Cheng du staff!

I came for a special occasion and I could not have been more happy with the how fast the food came out, the quality of the food and taste and the accommodations made by the chef for my meal. I ordered the half and half but requested my shrimp be made in a curry sauce. They happily obliged. We also ordered the house rice ( it was so good we took an additional order to go home with [because we finished the first order] along with left overs) and pepper steak. The steak was cooked perfectly. Very easy to chew and not “chewy”! The finishing touch was our amazing waitress packaging up our food-to-go, so we didn’t have to. This was my first time here and we will definitely be back… often!!

This is my favorite Chinese food place. I would give it 6 stars if I could. Everything is great but we particularly like the General Gau's Chicken here. Always crispy and not too much batter. Even the presentations are great. My kids love their chicken wings. They also do an amazing job with Gluten Free options. Almost every menu item can be made gluten free. Mai Tais are great too and you can order them to go.

One of our favorite restaurants in Mansfield. May has a heart of gold and we love that she knows us by name...and our order by heart. We just need to sit down and she knows how to take care of us throughout the entire meal. My husband has been going to Cheng-Du a good 35 years (and me 13 years) and couldn't think of having a delicious Chinese dinner without May or Cheng-Du. Highly recommended!!
