Chelo is AMAZING! I’ve eaten at the restaurant and ordered delivery, and it never disappoints. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned — that’s why I keep coming back! Their lemonade is also a must-try, it’s so good. I absolutely love this place!

This spot caught our eye. We stopped in with quite an appetite. This place looks like a takeout spot, but they have a nice small dining room. You order at the counter and they call you when ready We started with some Pita and the Garlic Shallot Yogurt dip. It was good. Note, the Persian Iced tea is good but very sweetened. I ordered the Shish Kabob and the Chicken Kabob. Both were tender and delicious. The saffron rice served made a perfect complement. My wife had the Chicken Koobedeh and the Shish Kabob. Both plates came with a small lentil soup. They also give you a choice of small dips, such as hummus, to go with the pita bread. The best item was the chicken kabob. It was very moist and flavorful. Wednesday for lunch on jury duty. Ordered #5. Everything was really authentic, fresh and tasty. $16.45 for chicken breast kebab, rice, salad, small lentil soup, hummus, pita. Surprisingly every single thing was good and the quantity was just right for the price (incl. leftovers). Will come again.

Lentil soup was one of the best iv ever had. It’s worth going back even just for this lentil soup, it’s a must try! My boyfriend also had the chicken & steak kabob plate and was very content with portion size and the rice! Rice was absolutely delicious, perfectly buttered & seasoned.

Awesome experience at Chelo Taste of Persia! Parking: There is metered parking on Van Nuys but I prefer to park on the street called Friar which is still metered but less heavy with traffic. The storefront is between the People's Bail Bonds and FCS Insurance Services with Van Nuys Barber right at the corner. They have daily specials and catering available too! The saffron lemon chicken kabob was tasty and soft, not dry like other places. I actually like how it's made to order and not sitting in a warmer some where. I got full rice but should have gotten half rice and half salad because from other pictures the salad looks really good! Hummus plate was okay. Overall, clean ambience and friendly service. Great experience and no negatives.
