Chef Lee Chinese Restaurant

Great for a local Chinese. Just about the only option in the area. Large dining space perfect for the family. I’d definitely stop in after a long lake day. Quick service and reasonable pricing. We always order pick up and super friendly staff, with little to no wait time. Little to no English barrier and located at the end of the food lion shopping center, with more than enough parking.

Everything we had was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The service was very friendly (including the trainee who was helping.) This is better than any Chinese food available in Culpeper, Madison, Orange or Zion Crossroads. Whoever was cooking today was fantastic.

The food is excellent every time. But the service.is very slow. The table next to us left because no one even came for their drink orders.

As much as we used to love this place tonight was a disappointment. We felt very rushed. Still eating and got the check. Food wasn’t as good as usual. Crab rangoons tasted more like onions than anything and were extremely overcooked. Kids got children’s cups and we were charged a styrofoam surcharge without being asked or told. They are old enough for regular cups. Take home containers were tiny. Everything seemed rushed and there were hardly any people dining in. No offers for drink refills, constantly trying to clear our table. Probably won’t be going back since this was such a drastic change from our former experiences.

What a huge disappointment. We've been to Chef Lee a few times and it's usually okay. This last time will be the last time. The service was terrible. It took at least 20 minutes for someone to come to our table to even take our drink order. Another 15 minutes for the waitress to come back to take our food order, and a half an hour after that we decided that was it and we paid for our drinks and left. The very worst part of that visit though was watching Phoebe who may be one of the owners, I'm not sure, watch as the obviously new waitress was struggling. It didn't appear that Phoebe had any tables to serve and she just watched her colleague in the weeds. The way Phoebe treated her was terrible. We won't be back.
