Chee Peng Chinese & Thai Restaurant

Wonderful place, atmosphere, and customer service. I’ve been going here at least 3 times a year for about 18 years. Such good memories and great food! I can’t find crab rangoons like these anywhere else. In my opinion, it’s unbeatable.

Our clinic hadn't ordered from here in about a year, until today, and we are pretty disappointed. I ordered our pickup for 3 lunches, well 1 lunch and 2 Thai dishes which we were told can't be lunches, must be a dinner (which is $3 more than a lunch). But when I got to the restaurant to pick up our food, 1 of the Thai dishes we ordered was on the buffet, and for much cheaper than a "dinner", which also included soup! The "2" crab wontons ended up being rung up as 2 -orders- of crab wontons in which a couple didn't even have any filling, but ALL had no more than 1/4th teaspoon of filling. They also charge $3 extra for fried rice. When I asked why they said it started when eggs were hard to come by, but then they just kept that price because "its such a hassle". Food was very good, wait time was exceptional, and the service we got from our waitress was absolutely the best service I have ever had. Anjelica was polite, knowledgeable, and all around a wonderful person to be served by. I would go back just to be served by her.

Best kept Secret in Alpena. James is amazing, Food in INCREDIBLY consistent. Never have any complains, they even have lunch buffet with FRESH food. If you are in Alpena and want Chinese OR Thai food. Dont even bother with the other places. Go to Chee Peng you wont regret it.

Absolutely delicious! They had a lunch buffet that we just missed so we ordered off the menu. I had T15 chicken pad Thai with a creamy red curry coconut sauce. omg it was so good. the food was hot and ready quickly. Our service was excellent and the waitress was very nice.
