Chart House has a big outside game of fine dining but when it comes to the very pricey food, it should be amazing. We ordered the Kim chi calamari which explicitly said 'lightly fried' on menu. When placed on our table, it was deep golden brown, not lightly fried. The calamari was very very chewy! The calamari rings could have been used as carnival rings around the milk bottle...where is my free goldfish to take home?! Although the steak was very well cooked to med rare amd the right amount of salt and grill marks. Mashed potatoes could be used to cover holes in my rental, they were so gluey. What happened to using butter and cream?? Asparagus...culinary 101 = peel and breakoff woody ends. If you are preparing ala carte veggies, treat the product right and you make something simple, absol

Disappointing food experience. Went for the Stag’s Leap Winery tasting experience. Wine was great and our host Pete was wonderful (passionate, knowledgeable, easy going, and open to all wine/food topics). The food for this 24 person tasting event was not worth the money. Bruschetta was soggy but flavor was good. Avocado belinis were also soggy and flavor was ok, salty. Lamb was raw and flavorless. Told the server it was raw and it came back with what looks like the entire plate was stuck in a broiler - potato puree came back crispy and the tops of the lamp were cooked but fat cap still solid and raw in the middle. Beef cut was a “rib piece” again served with lots of fat caps and rarer than many would enjoy. Didn’t enjoy the eating around it experience. Olive oil cake was yummy and not too

My partner and I had lunch here a few weeks ago. The view and atmosphere were pretty good. A lot of people mention about the calamari in their review, so we ordered to share. I was glad we did. It was nice and crispy. The shaved prime rib benedict was very disappointing. It wasn't juicy at all. The grilled fish was delightful though. I wanted to stay longer to enjoy the view, but of course there was a fly so we left as soon as we finished eating.

A Truly Exceptional Dining Experience at Chart House Portland From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the impeccable service, stunning views, and incredible food. The complimentary valet parking made arriving a breeze, and we were seated just before sunset — a perfect time to watch the skyline transition from golden light to twinkling city views. Absolutely breathtaking. We started with the calamari, which was crisp, flavorful, and beautifully drizzled with sauce — easily one of the best versions I’ve had. The Caesar salad and lobster bisque followed, both decadent and rich with flavor. For entrées, the steak and shrimp skewers were perfectly cooked, and the chimichurri sauce took the dish to another level. The crab-stuffed sole was a true standout — tender, flavorful, and expe

Our first visit was exceptional, highlighted by gracious, attentive service and a relaxed atmosphere. We returned on a much busier evening, and while the dining room carried a noticeably different energy. The prime rib is an absolute must—beautifully prepared, richly flavorful, and unquestionably the standout on the menu. One note of disappointment was the salad served in the cheese bowl, which arrived cold and would have benefited from being freshly prepared. On the other hand, the bread was clearly fresh-baked, warm, and well executed. We would return specifically for the prime rib.
