Charleston House Bed & Breakfast Inn

Look no further for a wonderful and comfortable place to stay in or near Charleston, IL. This bed and breakfast has very comfortable rooms, great bed and linens and so much charm! Joshua is a wonderful host and excellent cook! We had a great breakfast with yogurt and fruit followed by a quiche and bacon. Delicious! We will definitely be back the next time we are in town to visit family! There is plenty of parking and it is an easy walk to EIU campus!

Our stay at The Charleston House Bed & Breakfast was a happenstance, we were caught up in a winter storm and had to find a place to spend the night. Despite our last-minute booking, Joshua was an amazing host and met us at the property at short notice. The property is charming—a beautifully renovated historic home that preserves its original character. Our room was pristine with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom, just what we needed to relax after a stressful day of driving. The next morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast in a lovely dining room, each table decorated with fresh flowers. I highly recommend this cozy, welcoming property!

What a gem The Charleston House is. If you are looking for a cozy, clean and relaxing place to stay in the Charleston area, look no further! My husband and I stayed for one night in the newly renovated bed and breakfast and enjoyed a comfortable bed with amazing linens, a large bathroom with some fantastic soap and shampoo and topped it all with a delicious breakfast! The owner, Joshua was accommodating to an earlier check in and we enjoyed our conversation with him about the history of this bed and breakfast. We will definitely be back when we are in town to visit family!

Although I have never had the opportunity to stay at this location, I know the owner and how much dedication, time and expertise he has taken in opening this property. Having grown up in Charleston, I know the location is perfect, the facility looks great and you couldn't have a more dedicated owner. Charleston needed a 5-star hospitable place to stay. Highly recommended for anyone to try.

Great place to stay in Charleston! The building and rooms were beautiful and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The owner Joshua was also very helpful and nice. Even cooked us a delicious breakfast each morning. Will return if we come back to Charleston.
