Charleston County Public Library - Main Library

I had a question about local history. The front desk person kindly referred me to the S.C. History room upstairs. I walked thru the main rooms and noticed they were clean and orderly. I took some time to peruse a display of endangered and extinct local birds. In the SC History room, a man named Pedro blew me away with his helpfulness. He produced three vertical files, full of relevant clippings of articles that answered my questions. In addition, he gave me the details of a local podcaster (a univ. professor) who specializes in Charleston history. This was above-and-beyond service at every level!

I absolutely love this library. I just wish it wasn't so far away from where I live. It's so unique .. I'm obsessed with the free book area / buy books area that are needing a "new home." I also love that there's a parking garage for the library, so I don't have to pay for parking like everywhere else in downtown.

The library could use more sanitation up stairs because theirs a musty odor that lingers around the computer s and tables.

This is a very well stocked, modern library with a professional staff.

This is the place where all true adventures begin in a good book the book I've been studying lately is called the secret and it's all about buried treasure and it just so happens that one of the buried treasures are here in Charleston and the best thing about libraries is they have everything u need to find it such as old maps and a reference section for information about the city so if ur looking for some adventure go visit ur local library
