Ordered the ribeye, house salad, Caesar salad, Mac n cheese, and cheesecake. Everything was delicious. The waitress forgot a few things in our order but they quickly brought them out afterwards. I love being able to make a reservation online.

Grab a lemon drop martini as a pre-meal treat! The steak, Alfredo, Cornish hen, potato wedges & corn maque choux were the perfect combination. The complimentary bread & butter was delicious. Tastefully decorated, Char is on par to any other casual chop house style restaurant in the midwest! All in this is done in a 1970's vintage schoolhouse! The owner/hostess has a greeting and is authentic and "Iowa friendly." The servers and bartender are the same. Very accommodating and helpful in making selection choices. From the outside, you might not expect what awaits inside—arriving at what appears to be an old school building makes the experience even more intriguing.
