Steak was well done, I asked for med rare, the American fries I guarantee are dehydrated potatoes, the salad was sad and appetizer was almost burnt. They should've stuck with Mexican food. I won't be back. I told them my steak was ruined they did nothing to make it right. The Potatoes were inedible. 42$ for a crap meal. They even uncharged me for using a debit card by 1$. I shouldve known by the empty parking lot they sucked. Tgey shouldve stuck to Mexican food.
No complaints except food could have been brought out hotter. I was curious and tried the chopped steak and eggs, which is kind of in between a burger patty and meat loaf. With some salt and ketchup was fine. The interior and exterior had some nice touches, which we appreciated.
The people were kind and they did a great transformation from the former restaurant! The hashbrowns and eggs were good, but the bacon was very overdone. We went back to Fairfield Diner and the experience was better! I got the chicken Philly and french fries … it was delicious! If you spread out the filling, it’s less bun heavy. The french fries are crisp and tasty. We also got a combo skillet, which was fantastic! I absolutely will get it again!
Never got the opportunity to eat. We arrived shortly after 2 pm on a Sunday and ordered an appetizer while we looked over the menu. My wife decided on the fried chicken which the menu said it took 20 minutes to prepare but no one can back with the appetizer or for our order. My wife went to find someone to take our order and was told that she couldn’t have the chicken because they were closing at 3. Unfortunately there are not many choices to eat on a Sunday afternoon in Fairfield, IA!!
Friendly service, good atmosphere, breakfast was ok but the pancakes were hard to cut even with a knife. Restroom was clean. Overall I recommend.
