Chaparro's Family Restaurant

Not all Latin/Spanish restaurants have that unique flavor. In my opinion, if you are looking for rich flavors in Latin/ Spanish food, this is the place. Preparation is essential to determine if the restaurant has great quality. This cozy restaurant is ideal for small gatherings. No reserved parking, free limited parking, wheelchair accessibility, and restroom. Toddler accommodations, bilingual staff, overall an excellent vibe. All dishes come in medium to small portions, I ordered the beef stew, which carried rich flavors to the taste. Hand-made corn tortillas, fresh beans not canned, and shrimp dried rice, filled with lots of vegetables. Overall, highly recommended, I will definitely be returning back for homemade meals.

I went there on Tuesday and was treated horribly by the woman working the morning shift. She was rude, nasty, and completely unprofessional. On top of that, she illegally added a 25% fee to my order without any explanation or warning. This is unacceptable and borderline fraudulent. Customers should not be overcharged just because an employee feels like it. I will never return, and I seriously hope the owner steps in and deals with this employee immediately before more customers are scammed.

Ordered take out and was not disappointed. I had low expectations since I tried their beef soup last year and it was not good, no taste and just very bland. But, I was surprised how good the chuleta encebollado was… very tasty and huge portion. I also ordered a side of chicharron and that was a huge disappointment since it had no crispy skin, which is the only thing that I really like, so I ended up not eating it. But, I can’t wait to try other dishes! Now, I know the dishes I should never order again.

Food is great! HUGE menu to choose from. Fortunately we came the day before they close for renovations! I’m very curious to see how it’ll look like afterwards!

5 stars ALL THE WAY. I have tried at LEAST 75% of the menu and so far only disliked one item, which was the beef soup, which I've had 2 times. I did not find it to have flavor and did not like the broth BUT everything else I tried was absolutely delicious. 10/10! The picture I provided is of the Churrasco Guatemalteco/Guatemalan steak. Everything about this dish is amazing.. There's even crema and a little cheese wedge in there!! I like to eat a bit of everything in one bite and you can't forget the green sauce!! That stuff is made out of pure magic. Chaparros is probably my favorite place to order from in Danbury and I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Thank you to the chef who clearly puts in enough hard work to make me write this super long review haha we love you!!!!
