Changing Tides Café

This is a very long overdue review that I meant to write a few weeks ago after visiting the area on vacation. Let me just say, during my week's stay in Newburyport, I tried all the local coffee shops and Changing Tides Cafe was the best one. The staff was friendly, the owner was lovely, the pastries are delicious, and the coffee is phenomenal. They use George Howell Beans, but so do a lot of other places, and I've come to realize that even when using a high quality bean, it doesn't actually matter unless the barista is trained properly on how to care for and use the bean in coffee. These baristas know. I love that they offer pour-overs or French presses of each of their specialty beans and that they never seem to rush the process. Just the nicest staff and really great food. The owner (I believe) saved the day when my 2 yo dropped her cake pop and offered her another one. She also offered to make my kids a PB and J and asked how I liked the toasty-ness of my breakfast sandwich in case it was for my littles. Favorite little coffee shop I've found in a while!

Changing Tides is a fantastic spot for breakfast, especially if you’re craving a hearty breakfast sandwich. The service is impressively quick, making it perfect for a busy morning. The atmosphere is inviting, whether you’re grabbing a bite on the go or staying for a bit. While their coffee is a little on the sweet side for my taste, everything else more than makes up for it. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Changing Tides Café has not just a lovely atmosphere, but also friendly staff, great food, and amazing coffee! My partner and I went here for Valentine's Day, and it was just an overall pleasant experience! The mocha latte I got is the best I've had around here, and the donut egg sandwich was tasty and filling! Definitely will come back again! Happy Valentine's Day! ❤️

This is a great spot for coffee and baked goods! We got the white chocolate raspberry scone and two specialty iced lattes - amazing! The staff was super friendly and kind, they also had a Tuesday special for iced coffee. A must stop when in town. ~Des
