Central Cafe

I stopped by the Central Cafe for the 2nd time yesterday. Food, menu and price was average, but service was great. Good people and not too busy. Fair place to get southern cooking in Dobson because there aren’t a lot of other options. Cheeseburger was good but they used a bargain brand ketchup that was not a compliment to the meal. Salad and mashed potatoes with brown gravy were above average.

Normally pretty good. We go there often. But today being Valentines Day, and they’re trying hard to promote the Valentine’s Day special, something was off. Must have a different cook because it was just plain nasty.

A Southern Gem Worth the Stop Every Time! I first discovered Central Café about three years ago during the Ground Steak Festival in Dobson. I had never even heard of a ground steak sandwich before, but they had a booth at the festival, and I decided to give it a try. Let me just say—it was absolutely delicious! That fresh sliced tomato on top really took it to the next level. Since then, I make it a point to stop in whenever I’m back in town (I live out of state), and I’ve probably visited five times over the last few years. Each time, I’ve been met with warm, friendly service and that classic southern hospitality. The food is always fresh, comforting, and full of flavor. Home style cooking at a great price. Short detor off the highway well worth the stop.
