The people that work here are awesome! Very helpful and interact very well with all ages. The book selection is nice and if they don't have it and its in the system they will get it for you

Near empty shelves. Limited selection. No comfortable places to sit and read. (At least they took their banned books shelf down.) Shame the county let this once excellent library go to ruin.

It has been awhile since I have even entered this building, this cave of wonders. It has changed a lot I must say. Just like when radio was the medium and the television strolled into town and started the long and drawn out murder of the radio star. The library has become infected with a techno mass. A technological cancer is what the once blessed shrine to the written word has contracted. Unfortunately I do believe it to be malignant and progresses rapidly and aggressively. It is truly heart breaking. This once busy and silently packed debarkation zone was empty and hollow. Where you would once go to embark on an adventure of any sort, or maybe just sit and ponder on the creation on new worlds with a stroke of your own pen, this would be the place to be. the ladies here are very nice and helpful, and they have a great selection of books. the only thing i didn’t like was that one of them said they didn’t have a selection of faith based books, only some fiction books from christian authors or amish books. i found a whole section on faith based books, and the lady said “i thought it would be in the fiction section”. i felt a bit unwelcomed with that comment, as a library should be a place welcome for all beleifs and differences, with no personal bias or judgement. what’s fiction for some people could be the center of all reality to others. something to keep in mind. nevertheless, overall this is a great library, and besides that one fleeting comment, everyone who works here is great and does there job well.

Newport Library has gone through a lot of changes in the last year. Some feel it hasn’t been good and others feel it is for better. Our experience has been a good experience thus far. We utilized the library before the pandemic and were already familiar with the online services. We relied on them a lot as we needed to plan ahead for school purposes. The new system was an adjustment but for us a good one. Books that had to be purchased in the past because our system was limited we’re now available and well worth the wait! We have formed a good report with our “new” library, the staff and it’s “new” system and we’re adapting well! The staff has been so helpful with sharing resources and a willingness to serve the community. We have grown to love our library and look forward to our almost dai
