Caravela Restaurant

We visited this restaurant expecting a great experience based on the atmosphere, which initially seemed promising. The service was quick, and our food arrived surprisingly fast, but unfortunately, that may have been part of the issue. The food itself was underwhelming across the board. The rice didn’t taste or even look freshly made; it had a processed, almost artificial quality. The chicken dishes and kids’ tenders were average at best, lacking flavor. While the fries were enjoyable, that’s not exactly a strong highlight since fries are hard to get wrong. The salad also seemed less than fresh, and overall, the dishes lacked seasoning and depth. Great old school thin Portuguese beef! Not many restaurants serve the thin cut Portuguese beefs nowadays.. The gravy is great especially with extra 😋 garlic... the waitresses are great..

Easy location to get to. We drive down from Somerville to shop at the Portuguese markets and buy items that just aren’t available up here. So while we’re down here we always dine at a Portuguese restaurant, and Caravela is now my favorite. The staff is awesome, we were seated right away (party of 5) we were immediately greeted by our server, she was awesome, knowledgeable, and so friendly. the food is excellent we had a variety of dishes and the were all delicious, and very plentiful, nobody in our party were able to finish the entire dish. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming, the staff works so well as a team, and all of our dishes were delivered at the same time. The prices were very reasonable, this tells me they are about serving great food and building a great customer base. If

We had a great authentic Portuguese lunch of half grilled chicken with rice and fries. Fast service and fair prices. (The dessert menu looked good too but we'll have to save that for another time.)

Every time I have been the food is so good! Some of the best Portuguese soup I ever had! Sometimes there is a wait but trust me, it’s very much worth the wait! The prices are more than fair! The food is delicious!
