Caraotas Nyc - Arepas, Burgers & Milkshakes

EXCELLENT!!!! it's so hard for me to find good quality well seasoned vegan options in queens and everything I ordered was delicious. 10 out of 10 ...I got vegan arepa, empanadas and other items. The food was great

Where do I start besides everything was mushy old and tasted like straight salt . I had shredded chicken beans white rice plantain topped with sour cream and mozzarella cheese. I couldn’t tell the difference between the melted mozzarella and rice . Sour cream taste like salted rice water . Rice tasted undercooked and old. You know when u have left overs and you add water to soften it up . It’s wasn’t worth it to me. Chicken had zero flavor besides salt. Maybe I got them on a bad morning. Honest review I wouldn’t eat here again. Oh and did I say there pickled onions aren’t even pickled. They taste like salt it doesn’t even taste like onion .

Unfortunately, I won’t be coming here anymore. Sadly it’s just not the same. First and foremost I got there at 8:50pm and left at 9:35. When I walked in there were only 3 guest seated. Why did it take 45 mins just to receive two bowls. I paid for beef bowl and plantains and didn’t receive it as well. We instead were given a pork bowl 🤮. You can tell they’re loaded with probably uber orders but prioritize your in person guest first or hire more workers. One worker shouldn’t be dealing with money and serving with the same gloves. Do better!

I order frequently from this place on uber eats and it was super delicious, hot, and fresh. Last three times I’ve order has been terrible. I kept thinking it’s a one off situation but THREE times. Today the rice was hard which lets me know the rice is old. The plantains have been cold, black and old all 3 times. The bowl also is severely less food every time. Unfortunately, this is the last time I order Caraotas.

Now the first I came here it was a delight. The second time made me not want to come back. My issue was when I proceeded to order from the menu at hand. The person behind the counter then pulls the menu from me and tells me they do not have any of the milkshakes I want. Yet last time I was here they had them. Now for good customer service, you don't pull menus from your customers. You politely let them know you do not have the stock for the milkshakes/person who makes them.
