Captain Tom's Seafood

We arrived at opening time. There was a gaggle of people you could tell were regulars. We got seated quickly. Our server promptly greeted us and took our drink order. After getting our drinks, she gave us time to read over the menu. We both went with the daily special. It was a fried fish and shrimp with two sides. I got the fries and baked potato and he got the apple sauce and green beans. Everything came out at the same time and hot and fresh. Hushpuppies came with the special. Everything was delicious. The tartar sauce was notably delicious. I'm not usually a fan, but it was great here. Our drinks were refilled without asking. We were even asked if to go boxes would be needed before asking. A great, unassuming, family oriented seafood & steak house that won't break the bank!! 💸 Hushpuppies and onion rings are yummy 😋 , the Seafood 🦐 is succulent and delicious, and the chicken 🐔 ...OMG!!! Fresh, hand-breaded, and fried to perfection 👌 Have not tried the beef 🐃 , but will give it a try next time. Service is fantastic!! Only downer for me was the deviled crabs 🦀, only found one little piece of recognizable crab meat in two orders! Lots of flavor and plenty of breading, if you are into that....😒 If you're around Petersburg/Colonial Heights and Jones'n for some Seafood, stop in and give them a try! You'll be glad you did 😃!!

The food was really good, waitresses were attentive without being bothersome. Great portions that are well worth the money. I had a combo dish with founder, shrimp, oysters, hush puppies, fried okra,and onion rings. Everything was cooked and seasoned well. If you're hungry and want affordable satisfying food, go here.

The food was adequate but portions were sizably smaller than last time we dined. The service was very slow and I found a small hair in my food. When I complained the manager was somewhat rude and reluctantly comped the serving because I ate most of the food. However, the hair was underneath some of my food and I didn’t spot it until I had eaten that portion. I told the manager this but I don’t think she believed me. Plus I had to pay cash to avoid a $2.00 charge for using my debit card. The last time I dined there, this was not the case. Frankly I don’t think I will support this establishment again.

Good all around. The food is delicious. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere pleasant. I like to go have dinner and read my book. The staff takes care of everything and they not to interrupt my reading. It's my,once in a while, down time.
