Captain D's

I visited Captain D’s on Prince Anne St in Fredericksburg, Virginia for lunch, and it was a great experience. The fish was cooked perfectly — hot, crispy, and full of flavor. But the real surprise was the corn… absolutely amazing! Sweet, fresh, and the perfect side with the meal. The food came out fast, the staff was friendly, and everything tasted fresh. Definitely a solid spot for a quick and satisfying seafood lunch. I’ll be coming back for sure!

I could not find a complaint to make about the food. The salmon was moist and flavorful. The shrimp were delicious. The hushpuppies are wonderful. But if the food was a 5/5 the staff blew it out of the water. They were nothing but a pleasure to meet.

The food is good overall. I love the battered fish here but sometimes the service is a bit slow and the dining area isnt kept as clean as it should be.

I ordered the shrimp, fries and coleslaw. The shrimp was good. The coleslaw is awesome, it doesn't have alot of mayonnaise. We also had the chef's dish which included fish, crab cakes and shrimp. The hush puppies were okay, but a little dry. I would definitely recommend a medium tea, the large tea is really big.

Not sure if it’s because it’s the start of the day, but the food was delicious! The best I’ve had at Capt D’s! The staff was friendly and while the restaurant is a bit worn down from its age, it is clean.
