Captain Alex Seafood

I purchased a variety of seafood at Captain Alex Seafood for a gathering of 8 people. I wasn’t sure how much to buy, but the owner was extremely helpful and gave me his best recommendation. It turned out to be the perfect amount—enough for everyone with some to spare. I had a lot of questions, and the owner patiently and professionally answered each one in great detail. As for the quality of the seafood—it was outstanding. My sister, who is visiting from Sicily, even said the fish was as fresh and flavorful as what she buys straight from the harbor in Porto Empedocle. We’ll definitely be back!

Captain Alex's, Niles IL is a hidden gem. Quick, friendly knowledgeable service, good selection of pristine seafood, off the charts value to price ratio and attention to the new reality of Social Distant shopping health concerns. I picked up lovely dry-pack scallops for lunch and live soft-shell crab for dinner. Captain Alex seafood is pristine, good social distancing, and cost for quality is off the charts. There is a selection of fry in-house seafood available for quick lunches. I plan on becoming a regular. Captain Alex, count me a Fan!

This is a late review but I was here several months ago and both my son and I incurred food poisoning about 6 hours after eating here. We suspect it was the Cole slaw. But who really knows? The one thing we do know is that it came from this place since he and I live in separate households and it was the only meal we shared that day.

Just waisted $ 23I, I bought 1 and 1/2 lb Cat fish/ fried . on my the way home I tested one came with funky old test then I cut another piece same thing and was almost raw in the middle , had to stop another place to buy lunch again as this has to go stright to garbage , first time and last time for sure , plus it's super salty . :(

Great fresh fish, get the 3 pound bag of jumbo shrimp, they're just as good as Gibsons!
