Just wanted to thank the folks at Capital Kitchen for facilitating the exchange of the recently purchased ( about 6 months ) Zyless wine decorker that broke at the apex of the screw from regular usage. I no longer had my receipt but they were so reasonable. That is one of the best aspects of buying locally. Hope this one goes the distance.

My mom and I discovered this kitchen store years ago and fell in love! It's been a destination stop for every visit to Vermont since! And now that I live in Montpelier, VT, it is my favorite place to pop into in Downtown Montpelier for a friendly chat with Jess the owner, or the other friendly and knowledgeable staff! Jess has all the inside scoops on all the latest kitchen gadgets, tools, and finds, and her store is always stocked to the gills with the most quality kitchen goods out there! She's got Mason Cash, Mosser Jadeite, and all the best quality reusable eco chic kitchen items like reusable straws, snack sacs, lunch bags, shopping bags, and produce bags. The prices are reasonable as well! Capital Kitchen is by far my favorite kitchen store destination!

Went in for a couple specific basic kitchen related items (soup spoons and quality silverware drawer trays). The owner was working and I was told each time sorry, she didn't carry them as there is only so much she could sell out of her small store front. Hmmm. Not really, if she incorporated an ecommerce web site into her store with an in-store pickup. The same day, I found a nice solid wood silverware drawer tray at TJ Maxx and the soup spoons I'll probably buy online, perhaps from a competitor who offers ship-to-store service. For local family stores, like this one, who complain about internet business taking more of a share from what they do, I encourage you to start serving your customers the way they want to be served and you will be the one who comes out on top.
