Customer Reviews
Got a recommendation in town and thought we'd try it out. Went in around 1 pm on a Friday. Only one other group was there so service was excellent. I think it would have been great even if it had been packed. I wanted rubs but they were out. My wife and I both ordered the combo basket with catfish and crab cakes. The fish was cooked perfectly but it was very bland. Better than being fishy but no real flavor. Both our crab cakes were over cooked to the point of being burned. Cloe slaw was very good but the greens needed more seasoning. Prices were reasonable but overall, it just didn't hit the mark.
First time going and it was amazing! We got the boudin balls as an appetizer and they were so good and homemade. The meat was so tender and juicy and had a good flavor and the portions were enough, I got full just eating half! Prices are reasonable as well. We’ll definitely be back! The only negative thing I have to say is that there’s no fountain drinks only bottles and it’s almost $3 but you can get sweet tea for about the same price with free refills.
Tried for the first time tonight. Food was delicious! Steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection the grilled shrimp was huge and some of the best shrimp I’ve had. Due to the name I did not know this was a steakhouse or associated with Shaffer’s. I assumed it was another Mexican restaurant or I would have tried sooner!
I understand when it's a busy night, but over an hour to get our food was a little ridiculous. Besides the fact that 2 tables who came in after us got their food before we did. The hostess was extremely nice but our waitress was not attentive at all and extremely slow. There was a bluegrass band there and they were great! Our fried green tomatoes were okay, but a few of them weren't fried on both sides, like maybe they were stuck together when they went into the fryer. They were out of corn nuggets so I got the mayo slaw. It didn't seem like it had a drop of mayo in it and was very dry. The brisket was okay.
The food was very good. Their chicken wings must have been from a a small turkey they were big! We had their "Loaded thick crust pizza" very generous with the toppings. Definitely will be going back to try other things on the menu.
