Cancun Mexican Grill South Lyon

Took my wife here during a water outage in Novi. The service was pretty bad. The waiter was not mean, but definitely not nice. My veggie fajitas were just ok. But my wife hated her Chipotle fajitas… she said no flavor.

Cancun Mexican Grill in South Lyon has some of the best Mexican food in the area. Every dish I’ve tried has been phenomenal, and even my daughters managed to enjoy their visit ordering something as simple as a hot dog at a Mexican restaurant. The service is a little different from what you might expect. The restaurant uses an all-male wait staff, and at first they can come across as a bit serious or not overly friendly. But if you actually talk with them, they’re very welcoming and attentive. It’s a good reminder not to judge a book by its cover. Great food and a solid local spot worth visiting.

Server was not very polite, the bench seat in the booth we were seated at was peeling and torn, there were drips down the walls like someone threw a cup full of liquid against it. The server got our drinks but didnt come back for us to order our meal until our drinks were completely gone. He stated it got busy. There were several empty booths and tables around us. The shrimp was overcooked. Then when we were leaving, a man parked in the handicap spot without any handicap sticker or plate. When we said that he can't park there, he got very belligerent and said he was only picking up an order (which is still illegal). Highly don't recommend this place at all.

Consistently great food! Juan, usually waits on us and does a spot on job of it! Owner sees us coming in and opens the door. Plus, we get senior discount. This is now our weekly go to for lunch. Best Mexican food in South Lyon or anywhere else around! 5 stars!

This is by far the best restaurant of any kind I have ever been to. Estaban is the best and always makes sure our drinks are strong and food is fresh. Such a fun atmosphere and I can’t believe how good the prices are. My boyfriend and I have been coming here every week for date night for over a year now and I can confidently say we will keep coming back for years to come. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work and dedication to providing an excellent experience!❤️
