Canal Lamp Inn

Our first experience at a B&B. It was enjoyable and the house and surroundings are absolutely lovely. We stayed in the Zarnow room. The bed was extremely comfortable, loved the space and beautiful views of the canal outside the window. The bathroom was huge! But the hot water was a little hit and miss for the shower. Keith (the owner) was very nice and helpful. And the food over at Village Bakery was delicious.

We stay at the Canal Lamp Inn twice a year when my husband has work meetings in Rochester. We love the Canal Lamp Inn. It feels like coming home. The rooms are super clean and the historic home is quaint. The location is the best part. We can walk to shops and restaurants. We love that there isn't a breakfast but a gift card to the Village Bakery.

Was in town for a wedding and had a great time here! I wish we could have spent more time at the Inn and surrounding neighborhood, it was very cute. Easy booking and check in process, and came with a gift card for breakfast at the Village bakery which was delicious.

If you’re going to decorate with so much frou-frou (paper and fabric flowers on the walls/staircase/doors, tsotchkes, pillows, etc.), you have to commit to cleaning or replacing it frequently. Here, it’s all covered by a thick layer of dust.| |Other than changing the sheets and cleaning the bathroom between guests, I doubt the rooms are cleaned often. The fabric chair in our room was dirty and had food crumbs on top of the cushion left by a previous guest. The bedskirt was grimy and the area under the bed was just gross, and hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time. Welcome to a newer Bed and Breakfast Boutique Inn. The owner doesn't live on the premises, but is on hand daily and breakfast is voucher cards to the best bakery-with-breakfast meals in town!|The Inn is set in a romantic setting of greenery and flowers right on the Erie Canal. We spent our first day walking on sidewalks across the bridge over the canal and visiting Schoen Place, site of breweries, restaurants, and shops. We had a clear view of one brewery from our front window. Returning over the bridge, we visited a wonderful book shop in the older part of town and ate dinner at a casual but very good Mideastern restaurant, Fattoush. |The second day was Food Truck Day in the community. Even though it was rainy, we toured the trucks and made our choice for lunch, Mexican. My husband is
