California Pizza Kitchen at Ka Makana Ali’i

Hostess wasn't really friendly. She just didn't care at all to any of her customers. Our waitress on the other hand was extremely friendly and served us well. Food was good. Besides the hostess, it was a nice place for lunch.

Before I share my experience I just want to say me and my family were really excited to have CPK. This was our first time at the Kapolei location. First off I just want to say how disappointed I am at the employees who were working on December 17, 2024. The hostess working that night had a sassy attitude. What made me really upset is at the end of the night we asked for take out containers and she blatantly tossed our containers on the table. The service here was slow even though there wasn’t that much people in the restaurant. We asked the hostess nicely for bread because our waitress was busy and she said she would get it but we kept on seeing her walking back and forth doing other things. Good food. Good service. Good place to eat. A lot of options to accommodate most budgets.

Ordered the Tomato Basil Spaghetti… honestly it was the worst tomato basil spaghetti I have ever had. It was so oily, and the garlic chunks were huge. All I could taste was garlic and it tasted raw so it was bitter. Tried adding some of their Parmesan cheese to add some kind of flavor to it, but the Parmesan was so dried and stringy. It was like plastic and had no flavor either. Did not enjoy my meal at all.

Overall not a bad experience, but compared to my visit to another location in Virginia, it was not the same great experience. My server Sami was very nice and her customer service was good. The restaurant was not packed at all, so it was kind of annoying that our drink from the bar took quite a while to get to us. Our food was prompt and came out nice and hot. My only issue with the food was that they ran out of regular pepperoni, just think that is something a pizza place should not run out of. All in all I like it and would come back.
