Calakas Tacos & Miches

I had a cucumber lemonade for the first time & it was delicious! Our server Troy was very attentive and courteous. Jessica the manager was very sweet and came and checked on us. I am definitely going back. I truly enjoyed not just the food but a great atmosphere!!

Someone recommended this place to me and recommend the quesotacos. They were very good, although I kind of wish I had ordered something else because I’m confident they wouldn’t have been my favorite thing on the menu (I usually order Tortas when I go for Mexican food). I ordered a strawberry drink and they brought it out and it was delicious. Enough to give a 5 stars review. But apparently there was a mix up and it wasn’t the drink I paid for (I didn’t know the wiser) and they brought me out the correct strawberries and cream drink and it was phenomenal. So great service! I arrived a little after 11:30 on a Wednesday and the place started picking up and getting busy right after I ordered.

Empanadas & fish taco for lunch were SUPERB!!! What a charming little restaurant with a chef that cares about the food she serves. So fresh and delicious. I cannot wait to go back and try more things. The corn tortilla was the best I’ve ever tasted in my life.

Amazing burritos! The Calakas Burritos is one of the best burritos in town. I would recommend to everyone reading this to give it a try. This burrito packed full of carne asada, carnitas, and adobada. This is a hefty burrito with a lot of meat. I also purchase the Fresca con crema and it was very good too, very sweet. Their sauces are very good, don’t shy away from the dark one, it’s not super spicy but very flavorful and smokey. The current hours for Calakas make it so that you have to stop by for breakfast or lunch, or a very early dinner. However it’s worth it. I recommend Calakas Tacos and Miches

Pretty good place. I’m always down for an establishment with a unique layout, and this place has it. Good on the top floor, bar on ground floor, and dance floor below. I came in the afternoon for lunch with some coworkers and the food was pretty good and I got it quickly. Definitely a unique place in Idaho Falls worth checking out.
