Very small Cajun themed diner with a small storefront. Think Cracker Barrel type but much smaller. My Gumbo was very good with great flavor. But the shrimp in my jambalaya was overcooked. Other than that I really enjoyed my meal. Located directly across the street from the Southern Hill's Marriott. So an easy walk from the hotel. I'll be back for sure.
This is a gem for Cajun lovers in South Tulsa. Great food and blues bringing ambience. Love the selection. The buffalo frog legs are amazing - tangy, flavorful sauce that is spicy but doesn't blownyour palate. My go-to entrée is the Crawfish Mac & Cheese that comes with two stuffed chicken wings. Service is not incredibly attentive, but super friendly.
This is a great place to eat lunch or to buy specialty meats. Totally authentic thanks to the owner ED who is from Lafayette. He came out and took our empty plates off the table at lunchtime. Super nice guy and friendly staff also. You can get Turduckens here but I lived buying the quail in the frozen section for dinner at home. Will always come back here for lunch and spices.
Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly. The good is the place was very welcoming and offered many of my favorite Louisiana favorites in their market area. From stuffed chickens, Boudin and crawfish by the pack. The presentation of the food was the best part of my meal. You can tell they take time to place your food to be eye appealing. Which is very important to me. Also the portion sizes were adequate for the price. The bad and ugly kind of go hand in hand. As a person who frequents Lousiana frequently my taste for frozen seafood is not my cup of tea. The season was nice but the seafood just was not upto par. I could definitely tell that it was frozen. The catfish was good and cooked well but the shrimp was not that appetizing. The rice was cooked perfectly. 3/5. The crabcakes were
Nice quaint Cajun restraunt with food you feel was made at home by family. The red beans and rice were good, loved the Cajun fries, and the catfish po boy hit the spot. They have all the Cajun favorites to include boils and kings cake donuts.
