Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

This is the absolute worst Mexican food I think I’ve ever had in my entire life. I was recommended this place by some class mates who said it was better than chipotle so I tried it. All I can say is they were lying through their teeth. I’m in absolute disbelief how anyone thinks this place could top my goat chipotle. First I walk in and order a burrito, workers are impolite and I have to repeat every sentence I say even though I’m speaking up. I order a burrito with pinto beans and chicken, the scoop of rice was pitiful. They then proceed to wrap the burrito cylindrically instead of like a burrito causing all of the contents of the burrito to fall out when you pick it up, hence defeating the purpose of a BURRITO. We ordered a catered lunch, two tacos per person for twelve people, and we were given heaps of toppings and plenty of tortilla chips.

We go to Café Rio almost every week and are never disappointed, the food is delicious, generous portions and great flavors, sometimes the tacos have a too much meat when you ask for double meat! The TOSTADAS are the usual we order on WEDNESDAY because of the deal. The SWEET PORK is delish and cilantro lime dressing is a great combo. The drink selection they have is impressive, Coke products and Café Rio official drinks. Mint Limeade, sweet prickly pear, and black tea are refreshing and pair exquisitely with the meal. They also have Horchata, if you’re into that. The service is okay, a lot of the time the workers can’t hear your order thanks to the glass partition and the din of the kitchen.

Have been going to this location for almost 10 years. Used to be one of my favorite places for take out. But today I had a bad experience and wanted to warn anyone going that prices and portion sizes changed. I would be rating lower, but I have gotten good service almost every time before today. The new lady said they are training everyone to give less and charge more. I won't be going back.

I always have extremely good and positive reviews about this place. I had a negative experience, and I told the manager and I was absolutely thrilled. It shows very nice and respectful. The food is awesome, and the staff are great.I definitely recommend
