Cafe Porto Bello

We went to Boston on vacation and were lucky enough to find this little restaurant on a crazy busy Saturday night. We were a party of 4 and were able to get right in and had prompt friendly service. The food was delicious and felt authentic not frozen and we love that. For what we got the prices were very reasonable. We will be back and recommend this place to anyone traveling to Boston. The building is small but that’s the only negative.

The best Italian food I’ve ever had. Chicken parm was authentic and delicious. Perfect texture and taste combo. Pappardelle con chicken was an amazing blend of flavors - not too rich but creamy and delightful. And the service from Donna made us feel like part of the family.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner on a cold night last weekend. The reviews sounded great, and the folks waiting in line agreed. The place itself was simple but cozy, and quite busy. It's obviously popular with the locals. Our server was friendly. But our meals fell far short of expectations. I think our order may have just been overlooked. People who came in with us ate and left before our meal came to the table. My veal parm arrived charred and dry. I could barely cut through it. I am guessing this had something to do with our long wait. My wife did not care for her piccata either saying the lemon was overpowering. We did order desserts to try to end on a good note. Came here for lunch for the first time around new years and I found the best italian place in southie!!! Everything took a minute to come out but it’s due to everything being freshly prepared. Pasta was perfect, chicken was crunchy and fresh and cheese melty! I can’t wait to come back! and the pricing making it even better! bill was 85$ for 6 people!!!

A charming neighborhood Italian spot with a cozy, family-style vibe. It’s on the smaller side, but that only adds to its warmth and welcoming atmosphere. Our waitress was excellent—friendly, attentive, and clearly knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, a great experience. I’d definitely recommend it.
