Cafe Du Monde Covington

This was our first time here and I was massively impressed. We stop to get a beignet every time we drive through Louisiana and the ones here are by far the best. The service was fast and friendly and the beignets were made fresh to order. My daughter is the pickiest eater and normally just eats the frosting off a donut or in this case the powdered sugar and she devoured the entire thing and asked for more. They had a good selection of merchandise as well and we got two matching mugs one adult and one mini. I can’t wait to come back through though this time we’ll have to get a few orders.

Cafe Du Monde without the crowded streets of deep New Orleans! Now, I am from Mississippi from everyone smiles and is chipper but I was told the Louisiana folks are very straight forward and get to the punch! And that is just what this little shop does. Has the cutest souvenirs if that is your thing (it's mine!) and the beignets are good! We get the frozen coffee and it hit the spot every time. Our girls are picky and didn't like the beignets, and the asked if it was the quality. That tells me that are interested in the feed back. I will go back again if I'm ever on the area! 🧡

I passed through the area on a very long road trip, and I thought it might be nice to grab some coffee and a bite to keep me going. Unfortunately, I can’t say I’d choose to go to this Cafe Du Monde again… The service was fine. A little slow, but fine. The beignets were decent. But the coffee was just terrible. It was WAY too hot. Like completely burnt hot. I had to wait ages for it to be drinkable, and once I could drink it, I realized how bitter and burnt it was. The sad thing is, the original Cafe Du Monde is awesome. This offshoot location just doesn’t capture the greatness for me… at all.

We went through the drive thru and ordered the beignets, iced mocha and the frozen mocha. It was all delicious!

We stop by here every time we drive through the state, even go a little out of our way to stop here. Location is great as it is not in the middle of New Orleans and not far from the interstate. We are of course coming for the beignets. The OJ & coffee was good as well. The staff was great to chat to while waiting for orders. Had 1 order there and multiple to go. We bring these to our family in Florida and they love them. We appreciate the patio so we can have our dog with us without issue.
