Cabrera's Mexican Restaurant

AWESOME!!!! Oh my!!!! We found our NEW favorite Mexican restaurant!!! Both of our meals were GREAT!!! Our server was courteous and friendly. For Saturday dinner time this place was moderately busy, but the establishment ran like a well tuned motor. Definitely will be returning here for many "date nights"!!!!

Our dining experience is always over the top. The staff goes above and beyond. Our food always arrives shortly after we order. We are pretty regular guests and we absolutely love this family restaurant.

Today, my daughter and I decided to try a different Mexican restaurant in BG for a change. BG has a ton to choose from, but serendipity was with us this day! Pictured is their Burritos Mexicanos, stuffed with pork, tomatoes, onions, and green peppers. I was a little disappointed that this dish did not come with beans and rice, but I quickly realized that it stood by itself VERY well. It may look a little sloppy compared to our usual digs, but it more than made up for it with flavor. The service was excellent, the decor was Mexican restaurant chic, you can't ask for anything more, except the prices are lower, so yeah, it's got that too! My daughter had the fajita nachos sans veggies, and she was digging it like nobody's business. Our new found spot for sure.

Well. I had to edit my last review because they are slipping on their steaks. We eat there regularly and I usually order the Noel's plate which is the ribeye with grilled shrimp and sautéed mushrooms & onions. Lately I've been having some real issues with this dish. To start with the grilled shrimp had zero seasoning on them. Also the mushrooms were cooked to death. Now with the steak, if you do order it, you have to make sure you order it rare if you hope to have any red in it at all. Whoever is cooking them does not know anything about cooking steaks to order. The portion size is okay though. And even though their steaks are really starting to suffer, I will still continue to eat there because overall they are still a good restaurant.
