Cabarrus County Public Library (Harrisburg)

This is a very small community library with a limited number of books on its shelves. That being said, I haven’t read them all yet. Computers are available to the public and I think it’s free for Cabarrus County residents. CDs, books, children’s, and teen area. There chess boards inside and rocking chairs outside. The staff is super helpful!

Harrisburg Library is just a block off hiway 49 and tucked in a beautiful rural setting. It's small but there is plenty of comfortable seating to relax and browse through magazines or read. The library also provides individual study cubes if you need to concentrate more than usual. The only downside to this particular Cabarrus County library is the noise level during the day. Don't be surprised if the quite is interrupted by crying infants, screaming children or talkative library assistances. I think the real problem is the interior design. It's comprised of an open floorplan so all sound carries through the space. I enjoy going there and will continue to do so, but just be forewarned about the potential sound levels.

I have had multiple negative experiences at the Harrisburg, NC library. Every time I try to use the computer there is a problem with my account. They refuse to tell me what the problem is but somehow get it fixed after I ask for help about 3 times. Today I was there printing some things off for our adoption paperwork, and a library employee stood in front of the printer and stared at me the entire time I was using it (she was in my way and I literally had to reach around her to get my papers. Why???) Then she disabled the printer so I couldn't use it, said "let me know if you need help" and walked away. I have never felt so uncomfortable at a library and definitely will never return.

It was awesome! The customer service was superb! It has been awhile since I have been there and just reminded me while I always choose the Harrisburg location.

Very nice and clean and well kept library. One of the biggest issues, the workers/librarians themselves are loud nor do they enforce keeping the volume down or to keep it quiet. Since they themselves are loud then can not enforce the rules of the library. From the back of the library I can truly, truly, truly here everyone's conversation.(that's where I'm currently sitting) If you coming here thinking that you will have a quiet place to study or work please throw that out the window. Really and emphatically disappointed, I had such high hopes.
