Buda City Hall & Library

Great baby only story time that is reserved just for little guys. It’s very popular so you have to show up early to get one of the coveted tickets. It’s only held once a week but routinely turns away many babies. I hope they’ll consider adding on another day of the week or two so everyone can participate.

Library facility is very nice. But very low on actual books, as libraries go. Also the potentially legal liability problems hosting childcare within the library is not only ridiculous considering a library is supposed to be QUIET, but it's going to be the taxpayers who pay any negligence or abuse cases related to allowing the programs that should have their own separate site. It's really not a good idea to have formalized programs for minors - especially baby & daycare 'clubs' - when all types of adults are always going to be legally allowed in public libraries without restrictions. Of note: One city to the south has a public library as the primary source for paroled former prisoners and probation offenders seeking jobs and community hours information. I had such a disappointing experience with one of the staff members at the Buda Library. There was no compassion or even remotely decent customer service. As a mom trying to foster a love of reading, this lack of compassion was shocking and disheartening. To make it worse, even though my children attend Buda schools and we live within the district, I was treated as if we didn’t qualify for access to resources. A little understanding and flexibility would have gone a long way, especially in a place meant to support learning and community. I left feeling dismissed and unwelcome, and I can’t support the library after this experience.

The staff was very patient and kind. It looks very nice, and had many places to lounge. Book selection is small, but I love it here.

The Buda Public Library is absolutely amazing! It’s a beautiful facility with a fantastic selection of books, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. This has quickly become one of my favorite places in town. They offer a wide range of programs for kids and locals, making it a true community hub. Whether you’re looking for a cozy place to read, a great selection of books, or activities for all ages, this library has it all. Highly recommend checking it out!
