Yay for Bub's! Locally owned small business in downtown Algona, IA. Decor funky and amazing. Nice big and clean space. Owner doing all the cooking and taking orders herself. Variety of seating options. Order at the counter and your order is called out when ready. Mixture of soups, sandwiches, pies, baked potatoes available. Menu changes often I believe. Everything made from scratch and DIVINE! I had rosemary pulled pork with tomato bisque soup and strawberry shortcake. Just amazing. Dining companion had sloppy jo with ham & potato soup and cherry pie. Each had a bottled water. Generous portions but I was hungry and it was fantastic so cleaned my plate. Open for only two weeks, I arrived at 10:40 a.m. With about eight people seated enjoying wonderful pie and coffee. The owner was very friendly. Purchased an apple pie two take home. $12.00 and worth every penny!

Ordered a hot ham and cheese sandwich which came with a side of coleslaw. Definitely homemade! Will try the pie next time.
