Brookside Family Restaurant

It had an amazing salad bar. The food was so fresh and it was very clean. The veggies were very nicely prepared and delicious. I love salad bars and this one was really good. This was the first time we went there but we will be going back.

My wife and I had breakfast on Sunday morning and were pleased with all aspects of our visit. The meals were good, well prepared and adequately proportioned. We both took half home for the next morning. We were seated promptly (we arrived before 8AM) and our server appeared shortly thereafter. She was attentative and professional. One note: contrary to their postage signage, my wife brought her own tea in a thermo cup in. They charged us for a cup of coffee for her. This is fair because this is a business and bringing our own beverage would have shorted them revenue. We didn’t mind paying the “corkage” so that my wife could enjoy her favorite brand of Irish tea. The place is good if you’re stopping for a quick bite to eat. Pretty quiet, staff are somewhat friendly. They seemed like they didn’t want to be there. Overall a nice place.

I’ve visited Brookside Family Restaurant many times with my family, but today’s experience was by far the worst. Two women working at the cashier counter were extremely rude toward my child. My kid was crying because the crayon she was using was broken, so we politely asked for another one. Even though there were plenty available, both employees responded with attitude and insisted she could only have one. They showed no concern at all and allowed her to cry loudly in the restaurant instead of simply handing her a replacement. Employees with that kind of attitude should not be working at the front where they interact with customers, especially families with children. If you don’t like the food don’t you dare say anything. Just eat it or leave it, the management doesn’t care about your personal tastes. You eat their food and like it or they don’t want your business. Also, if you get pancakes with the strawberry topping be prepared for more topping than pancakes. Daughter wouldn’t finish because she said they were soggy.
