Brooks Barbecue

This was the last planned eatery establishment on this trip we were to visit and it was the perfect place to end it on...the kind of family run place you want to keep coming back to...a lot of history to this place...I had a fine plate of ribs with real homemade potato salad and their special coleslaw...Yum...also a order of lemon pepper wings and slice of sweet potato pie to remind one of better times...now on to find a place to picnic

I stopped in for baked beans and slaw to take to a church event. They were able to deliver and in a big way! Both were a hit! I also got traditional wings while there and they were great!

I haven't tried this place since 2022 because of a bad experience. I tried again today. My large pork sandwich came with coleslaw. The sandwich taste as though the entire sandwich was microwaved. I brought it to the managers attention and he said since I bit into it, there was nothing he could do. I asked how would I know if the slaw was hot if I hadn't bit into it. I didn't make a scene. I just gave him back the sandwich, told him to keep the money and I didn't want anything from there. I try to support Black owned businesses but it's very difficult. It was an elderly gentleman with a beard that spoke with me. All I wanted was what I paid for. He spoke as if I just wanted something free.

I have finally been able to try this place out. Sometimes simple is the best way to do things. This is exactly what they do here. They keep it simple and it works great! The food is very good. They do not have any seating for dine in but that is no problem. Get it to go and have a picnic outside at a park or eat at home. Either way it is very good. The slaw is awesome and the sauce is spicy. The prices are very good and the service is quick and friendly. I highly recommend eating here and I will be coming back for more!

Take out only! Took 5 mins to be waited on when no one was even in line. Cold chilled environment as if they don’t want you there. Employees treat you like you don’t belong. Food was so bad after taking a couple bites in the parking lot I couldn’t hold it down. Slaw was spicy which wouldn’t be bad for a slaw dog. But this is a BBQ restaurant. Potato salad tasted like a whole container of mustard was filled with a couple potatoes and then served. I will never come back!
