Love this place. You can really taste the difference with the organic flour — everything feels fresh and legit, not mass-produced. Their monkey bread is dangerously good… soft, sweet, and impossible to stop pulling apart. Great neighborhood bakery vibes and consistently solid bread every time I stop in.

Breadsmith in Lakewood is my go-to spot for real, quality bread. Their sourdough, honey wheat, and multigrain breads taste like actual, freshly baked bread—nothing like what you get at regular grocery stores. The flavor and texture are on another level, and the prices are surprisingly affordable too. I go there every week because their multigrain and sourdough are just that good. After buying from here, I finally understand the difference between real multigrain and real sourdough. Highly recommend!

Breadsmith is always one of my favorite locally owned bakeries to visit for fresh bread, cookies, muffins, scones (so good), and cinnamon rolls. Owned locally and made with clean, thoughtful ingredients. Bonus - There are a few locally owned shops within walking distance, Roots of Reverence and Eclectic Cleveland. Bonus - When the weather is nice, the Lakewood Firefighters are usually out across the street. lol

Highly recommend trying if you have never had any of their bread. It is absolutely delicious. In addition to their wonderful bakery items, they are also a great asset to the community for all their generous donations to support local nonprofits and fight food insecurity in our community. All the loaves of bread included in the Thanksgiving & Christmas food drives distributed by the Lakewood Charitable Assistance Corporation (LCAC) are donated by Breadsmith. They also donate year round through nonprofits like the Rotary Clubs of Lakewood & Rocky River. Thank you for all you do and all the bread you bake!

The Austrian pumpernickel is a bit different from the pumpernickel I know (less dense, less dark). Still, its light caraway flavor and cracked wheat & rye make it a great foundation for solid sandwich.
